My name is Joan and yes, I am 61 years old. I am the mother of two children, my oldest being autistic. This, however, does not mean that I do not have plenty of energy to keep up with your little one. I am into gardening, hiking, biking, sports, motorcycles, power walking and for fun I love to go for long walks with the family German Shepard and taking the horse out for a trot. Being older simply means that I am responsible, reliable and trustworthy and have years of experience that will prove invaluable to your family. I have worked as a nanny, as well as a ECA and a TA, with in the daycare system and volunteered within the public-school systems. I have also run my own home daycare. I enjoy helping children through learning circles, story and craft time. If you have school age children, I have taken part in reading and homework programs while working in the schools. I believe in screen time but only through a means of learning, otherwise and weather permitting I love to be outside playing and leaning about nature and meeting new friends. I do have asthma and therefore I am looking for a family that does not smoke or have an overly scented home. I am fine being around animals. I am available full or part time.
