My name is Desiree. I live in North Ajax with my husband and two little boys. I am looking for care for my son who will be starting JK at St. Josephine Bakhita. Since I was a young teenager, I babysat for my neighbour's children from the ages 2-10. I would feed them, play with them, change diapers/potty as needed, get them ready for bed and put them to bed. I have worked in daycare for many years, as well. I worked mostly in kindergarten and school age rooms but I also relieved others for their breaks in all rooms (infant, toddler and preschool). I have assisted and led snack/lunch prep. I was the designated ECE for the school age room, where I planned and organized activities for my class. I also was an ECA in a kindergarten classroom where I helped plan and organize our weekly themes. I also set up a science, math and language centre where the kids would rotate through each centre to help them with letters, numbers and fun science experiments. I have also received my Masters of Teaching where I have had a lot of classroom experience teaching different subjects to Kindergarten, Grade 5, Grade 5/6 and Grade 7. The only reason I have not fully pursued teaching is because I ended up having two kids of my own back to back. Now, that I have my two little ones, I have decided to start doing home daycare. I have a fun play based environment that includes a variety of toys, activities, crafts and outdoor time. I provide a wide range of healthy meals and snacks through the week. I have a large outdoor space to play with lots of fun toys and live nearby to several playgrounds. I am within walking distance to St. Josephine Bhakita C. S. and da Vinci P. S. in Ajax.
