I am an Early Childhood Educator and Inner Peace Facilitator with many years of experience. My style would be considered to be very similar to Waldorf in principal. My main goal is fostering inner peace and outer peace through an inclusive and empowering view of self and others which greatly facilitates a child’s happiness and successful communication and navigation in the world throughout their lives. I did 2 practicums for my early childhood education certificate, one in a large university daycare centre and the other in a professional home daycare with the full basement set up as the daycare. Before and during my schooling I volunteered at midsize daycare centre. I also volunteered with a friend doing childcare in a church basement while the mother's had a bible meeting. There would be anywhere from 5 to 13 children. I worked part-time for 2 years at a rehab centre for women who were able to bring their young children with them to the centre and we cared for the children while the mothers were in AA meetings. Some of the children had been born with addictions or fetal alcohol syndrome. After completing my ECE certificate, I worked for a year and a half as a supervisor in a daycare with 28 children, along with 2 other staff. I then moved to Calgary and became a nanny for a year an a half caring for children ages 2 and 4. It was a really wonderful experience. In Cranbrook I looked after a 2 year old for 4 hours per day 2 to 3 days per week for about 6 months while his mother worked on a transcription course at home. And most recently I worked for a Calgary family for a year and a half, primarily as a mother's helper. Then for another family as a nanny for 2 years for two girls who were under 3 and 5 when I started.

I have my early childhood education certificate as well as 2 years of general studies at University of the Fraser Valley.
