Hi! Things have evolved here, and our monkeys need a housekeeper now, not a nanny anymore. Our Mary Poppins is back in graduate school and we need to find the next awesome companion to our two girls (8 and 11 now). Mary Poppins 2 will bring her own special and different character, but here is what you need in common:
- The main need now is laundry, folding, general tidying and some light cleaning
- There may be some homework supervision, school and activity pick-up depending on your available hours
- Additional responsibilities of 'household management' such as arranging repairs and supervising workers etc.
Ideally you are:
- Clean freak and Marie Kondo fan (this is about getting along with the mother - if you already know the folding methods that's a big plus, if not you must be ready to learn. Incompatible folding not allowed)
- Feminist, intellectual, curious, fun-loving, exploratory - for real. Our monkeys are all these (yes, 8 and 11-year-old feminists. They have a Feminist, Inclusion, and Social Justice Library at home). You'll bring guidance to them, you need to be not just ready but psyched for that
- Driver's license helpful but not essential. If you do have a license you need to be a good driver ;p
- Potentially also up for some errands, cooking, some cleaning (we have an excellent weekly cleaning person for the heavy lifting though, that's separate)
- Something like 8-16 hours per week, we're flexible on which hours and how many, but seek a true commitment for more than a couple of months
More to say when we connect. If the above works for you (and the laundry focus is clear), please reach out.
