looking for a responsible capable young person to be a caregiver/1:1 shadow for our special needs son
Weekend mornings (9-1 or 10-2) primary focus
Saturday afternoons (2-6) and weekend evenings (6-10pm) slots available
Must be reliable, competent and very serious about commitment. Experience with special needs children an asset but not essential. He is 20 years old but still the size of a child due to his syndrome. He is very social and likes people. Needs close supervision and help with all basic skills, needs and activities due to intellectual and physical disabilities.
Great experience for a cegep/university student studying in the field of social work or special care counselling but no essential for applicants
English speaking is preferred. Resident of the West Island would make transportation easier.
The boy has Xia-Gibbs syndrome, is non verbal with some physical limitations so needs help to walk up and down stairs and likes to hold hands when he walks in general.
If you are calm, happy and cheery person, he will love you and form a great bond.
Pay is $20-25/hour to be discussed.
