We have a high energy 3 year boy and very opposite, easy going 11 month old girl. The basic job description is tending to the needs of each child, providing emotional support, bathing, reading to, playing with, swimming, taking out on occasional outings, walks to the park. Anything else you can do to contribute to positive learning outcomes for the children. This position is meant to be the sole occupation for our potential nanny. FLEXIBILITY is an ABSOLUTE must as we are shift workers ourselves. Occasional shifts have early starts at 5:30am. The majority of our shifts are later and run until 1:30am. Some shifts are shorter 5 hours but there are longer 12.5 hour shifts as well (can provide examples of previous schedules). EVERY month the schedule is different as OUR schedules change every month. We publish the “schedule” at the end of each month for the following month. The occasional shift may come up last minute. Our previous nanny was averaging between 65-100 hours every 2 weeks. Shifts exceeding 8 hours (regardless of how many hours worked in the week, paid at 1.5 times pay, anything over 12 hours was paid at double time). You expect a monthly income of $2600-$5000. We’d prefer a live-in nanny to accommodate our shift structure and save on costs for both our family and her living expenses but not a deal breaker if appropriate arrangements can be made to accommodate our shift times. We provide a private bedroom, private bathroom, and groceries. We may provide a computer and TV to use in room (yet to be determined). A valid drivers licence is a must and preferably a vehicle (but not necessarily required if living in) for pick up and drop off at daycare for our eldest (approximately 3 days per week - to start) We’re also looking for a nanny that would be 100% open to travel with the family or alternate arrangement. We pay a flat daily rate (agreed upon in advance between both parties) ***We often get away 3-4 times per year for approximately a week at a time*** Our nanny should be willing to perform light housekeeping duties (meal prep for the kids, ensuring toys cleaned up, vacuuming, kitchen clean, kids rooms, and living room put back in order). We’re also seeking help with occasional groceries trips for our family. Due to our hectic schedules, we require assistance with the family laundry. (We have someone else come in to do a deep clean once a month.) We pay a fair wage, most pay cheques accumulate (on average) 20% overtime (time and a half). We will allow for pay raises (pre-determined) the longer our nanny is with us each year. We provide a Christmas bonus if we feel our nanny has met our expectations and did an outstanding job. We are seeking (at least) a 1 year commitment but hope for some one that would grow with our family for years to come- this is imperative as this is our children’s formative years.
