Employment period: permanent full-time 30 hours/week; Mornings & Evenings, Flexible hours Work location – work in employer’s home; be willing to relocate; staff accommodation available Work-site environment: Non-smoking Benefits – free parking, on-site housing option, paid time off (personal days), subsidized public transport (will cover bus pass), Required Skills - Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home; Take children to and from school and to appointments; Tend to emotional well-being of children; Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development; Organize, activities such as games and outings for children; Prepare and serve nutritious meals; Supervise and care for multi-aged group of children Additional Skills – Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties; wash, iron and press clothing and household linens; Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents; Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties; Shop for food and household supplies Desirable traits - The ideal candidate must be responsible and reliable; demonstrate good judgement, be willing to take initiative; must be well-organized and flexible Weight handling – Up to 50 lbs (e.g. lifting children in and out of vehicle) Language requirement - English; Educational requirement – certificate or diploma, in an applicable skill from a program of 3 months to 1 year specific to childcare and/or housekeeping Preference given to new comers to Canada and visible minorities Compensation, per hour– $16.15 -$18.90
