Our almost-2-year-old is happy, bubbly, and smiles more easily than anyone I’ve ever met. She climbs and jumps and dances and is fiercely independent. She’s got strong feelings about what she wants and is clear in communicating. Our 3 year old is also happy and fiercely independent. He loves talking, expresses his feelings well, and loves to think out loud. He is very extroverted. Like his sister he is constantly moving, but with limitless energy. His energy is so great he needs lots of activities to channel it productively, and as a result caring for him requires enough energy to keep and and stay a step or two ahead to keep him productively and safely engaged. My wife and I work full time jobs during regular daytime work hours, and given the attention and energy our kids demand, we find ourselves with precious little time to prepare meals, keep the house tidy, and take care of regular errands. We’re looking for help on weekends, and maybe some week nights to watch the kids, usually with us also in the house, so that we can split our time between childminding, chores, meal prep, etc. Occasionally we might ask for help cooking dinner if we are out for swimming lessons after daycare, etc. Could potentially extend to weeknights with daycare pickups, but that’s not the highest priority right now.
