I am 34 years old and come from a big Italian family. People say I have a fun personality, out going, honest, trustworthy, and caring. I am responsible and hardworking. Some hobbies I enjoy are: cooking, baking, shopping, dancing, decorating, organizing, watching movies and hanging out with friends and family. I also love entertaining for occasions and holidays. Growing up in an Italian family, it was very important to learn and carry forward strong values and qualities as an individual. Not just for ourselves but for those who surrounded us. I take pride in respecting others and the respect I receive back. I believe family and friends are very important in life. I am currently working at a private school as a RECE and also exploring new avenues for a career in writing for children's books. I have recently worked as a Supervisor at a child care establishment but due to the pandemic, my employer had decided it was her time to retire. My role as a RECE and Supervisor has allowed me to enhance and further my skills on many levels, professionally and as an individual. I would like to find a family that I can be a huge help to while I enjoy what I do best. Help with their children- keeping them busy, tutor, any organizing, grocery shopping, meal planning. I also offer catering, so I am able to prep meals for the week to make your busy schedule run easier! I currently hold a police reference check, CPR training and a food handler certification. References can be provided upon request. Please note, I am open to discussing an earlier start date and am flexible with my availability should those be important factors to you. The effectiveness of my verbal communication can be evidenced in the success of these various fundraising initiatives for non-profit organizations including UNICEF, CNIB, BC Cancer Foundation, PLAN, Effect Hope, Doctors without Borders, CAMH and Diabetes Canada. My passion for educating the public about the organizations’ local and international humanitarian initiatives resulted in an above-average number of donations while working for PLAN International Canada in 2012. Similarly, I raised the highest number of donations while fundraising for Iluvatar’s Breast Cancer Foundation campaign in 2022; our office achieved the highest number of donations Canada-wide. I was also awarded for achieving one of the highest numbers of sales during Iluvatar’s NASCAR campaign in 2022. Lastly, I have over 5 years of experience in positions that required me to provide exceptional customer service and use conflict-resolution strategies to address customers’ concerns in the most pleasant and professional manner. I have developed advanced formal writing skills over the past 8 years at York University while doing in-depth multidisciplinary research on partnership-centered solutions for socioeconomic, sociopolitical, and biomedical barriers. These barriers are faced by vulnerable demographics including minority groups, people struggling with addictions, indigenous people, people of color, people struggling with poverty, refugees, immigrants, the LGBQT community, seniors, children, and people struggling with medical conditions. I have experience using various computer software like Zoom, Zotero, Microsoft’s outline view feature and Padlet to organize and track research information, as well as network with colleagues. As a result, I have excelled in academic work. My research proposal, which is a primary quantitative study on partnership- centered solutions to barriers faced by vulnerable demographics, was nominated for an award and funding in the fall of 2022. During my time tutoring and teaching grades 1 and 2, 3 and 4, as well as 7 and 8 combined classes, I maintained written communication of students’ records through weekly summary of lesson plans and monthly grade reports. Those experiences greatly enhanced my multi-tasking and time-management skills. I have collaborated with team members to plan and set up events at various retail stores while fundraising for Breast Cancer Foundation and doing sales for NASCAR in 2022. We used upbeat music at the events, as well as challenged and encouraged one another in order to maintain a positive and goal-oriented attitude. I also have over 3 years of experience creating interactive activities that incorporate my students’ different learning styles. And I am currently collaborating with university colleagues on a Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) project by networking with Madawaska Valley Food Bank to create a website for them that includes member registration, reservation and donation features. With regard to my ability to meet the specific requirements of this job: Lesson plans: Aim to help students practice the following to become independent learners • Effective Studying Habits > Assess each student’s learning style in order to create the most a tailored interactive review sheet for each sub-unit > Create a review sheet for the major concepts covered in all sub-units > Create a questionnaire for each subunit > Create a questionnaire for the major concepts covered in all sub-units. • Demonstrating effective studying habits > Skim over the unit outline; introduction, sub-unit titles, bolded concepts and their definitions, as well as the unit summary. > Read each subunit from start to end while making note of key concepts, names, dates and places by using a specific highlighter color for each category or by taking notes. > Answer review questions at the end of each subunit in an open-book format • Assessment > Administer a mini quiz resembling the review questions at the end of each sub-unit • Exam preparation > Rehearse review sheet containing key concepts in each sub-unit > Administer an open-book test covering the key concepts > Administer a similar test without the option of open-book

I am a South Asian student living and studying in Canada. It has been pretty daunting living alone and surviving in this 4 seasoned country but I love this country as well. I have numerous teaching experiences from back home but even in Canada my first part time job began with teaching. I have been teaching for almost 2 years in Canada now. My first student; Jeremy is still learning with me as we progresses to 6th grade next year. I have also worked in a summer camp before as a camp facilitator and it was a wonderful experience. I felt a connection with teaching when I was failing my Mathematics course back in High School. A teacher named Farhan came through and saved me from failing the course. Mr Farhan as a teacher was incredibly different and very easy to work with. Since then, Mathematics has been my strongest suit and I have been making students love Matha and other subjects that they truly despise. I have experience teaching students from first through twelfth grade, both online and in-person, including in schools and group settings. A key strength of mine as an educator is the ability to establish a rapport with students. Often, students feel uneasy around new people, but I am skilled at forging strong connections from the outset.
