Looking for a mature, experienced male preferred caregiver to assist 80 year old physically fit and active man with late stage dementia. Assistance needed for waking up, showering and dressing, during breakfast, morning walk, lunch, dinner, and evening bedtime. Rest of the day is about keeping him safe and engaged with small activities when not napping. Will need to be able to do light housekeeping, meal preparation, making beds, and feeding and walking older blind dog. Several walks a day in any type of weather is required for walking the individual and the dog. Room and board provided for overnights between shifts. Other days as needed to cover other staff when on vacation or needing a day off. Please do not respond unless you are experienced, mature, and understand the salary and hours. Pay is $180 a day with standard meals and overnight accommodations provided. Required to work two days probation to learn and be evaluated on how well you understand and provide the care needed and to see if you want to do this job. You will be paid for these days. I am currently seeking an empathetic and experienced Personal Support Worker for a full-time, temporary project. The role entails two separate shifts of 12 hours each - one for the day and another during the night. The work schedule would consist of either morning or night shifts from Monday to Friday. As a Personal Support Worker, your primary responsibilities would include but are not limited to; Palliative Care, Parkinson Care, administering injections, Alzheimer/Dementia Care, heavy patient lifting and transfer. Your job may also require bathing assistance, dressing and grooming assistance as well as toileting assistance. The ideal candidate should have experience working with conditions such as Dialysis, Pneumonia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Dementia, Cancer, Incontinence (diapers), Visual Impairment, and Fractured Hip. Qualifications are central to this role; therefore, applicants should have CPR, CPI, a PSW certificate, a DSW Certificate, and a First Aid certificate. The working hours per week for this position range from 40 to 50 hours. A driver's license is not required, and the use of an automobile is not applicable. This role is suited for those looking for a live-in position, providing dedicated round-the-clock care. The preferred start date for this role is the 25th of November, 2025.

This independent woman is unfortunately experiencing an increase in falls and requires an eager, proactive individual to assist with her daily needs and activities. For the live-in arrangement, we can offer either a basement apartment furnished with a stove and fridge or a bedroom on the upper floor of the house. There is ample space for parking, should you possess a vehicle. Your responsibilities would encompass assisting the lady with her ambulation, including aiding her in safely going to the toilet during the night - a motion alarm will be provided for this. Additional duties span bathing, grooming, toileting, conducting range of motion exercises, housekeeping, laundry, planning and preparing meals, cleaning the bathroom, vacuuming, and washing dishes by hand. Additionally, you may be tasked with providing Alzheimer/Dementia care and administering injections. Previous experiences with Dementia, Incontinence (diapers), hearing impairment, or diabetes care will be a valuable advantage. The anticipated workload is between 40 - 50 hours a week and will largely fall during mornings, middays, evenings, and nights from Monday to Friday. The possibility of weekend work can be discussed with compensation varying depending on the hours you can avail yourself. If you are drawn to senior care and have the prerequisite skills and experience, this is an ideal opportunity for you, with a preferred start date of November 1, 2025. There will be a 2 month trial period prior to making any final decision.
