I am a mom of 3, looking to get back into the work field! As someone who was a stay at home mother for over 15 years, I have worked a quite a casual few jobs in Senior Care and Early Childhood Education. With an academic background in English Literature and Psychology, I understand the importance of independence within care to gear healthcare initiatives forwards. I have a deep understanding of human development, behavior, and the importance of fostering independence in both children and adults.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in various caregiving and educational settings. In my role as a Casual Home Health Support Professional with Private Health, I assisted individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, supporting them toward greater independence. I worked closely with healthcare teams to administer medication, design care plans, and help clients engage in community activities that fostered unity and self-reliance.
As a Volunteer Parent Educator with Louis Riel School Division, I collaborated with early childhood educators to develop personalized learning plans, ensuring each child’s educational needs were met. I also provided one-on-one support to parents, helping them understand how to nurture their children’s cognitive and developmental growth. Additionally, I was responsible for administrative tasks related to learning progress and curriculum adjustments, as well as promoting community events and raising funds for school charities.
Ialso worked as a Casual Assisted Living Waitstaff at Manitoba Homestead, where I provided compassionate service to senior residents, ensuring their meals met dietary restrictions and care plans. I also helped create a positive, welcoming environment for residents and their families, working alongside healthcare staff to deliver the best possible care.
As I return to the workforce in a more regular manner, I am excited to bring my diverse experiences to a new space. I am organized, detail-oriented, and compassionate, with a proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities at once. I am confident that my background in education, psychology, and caregiving, along with my personal experience as a mother, makes me a great fit for positions that require patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills. I am passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of those I serve and am excited to contribute my skills to a dynamic team.
Outside of my work experience, I enjoy reading, especially literature that explores classic horror! I am also passionate about cooking, and knitting winter wear for my loved ones!
However, I have been a stay-at-home mother for about 20 years now with experience in senior care and early childhood during that time. I have mostly worked in Private HomeCare and retirement homes such as MANITOBA HOMESTEAD. Along with having my own children, I have nannied for 6 years and was a volunteer early childhood educator at my children's school division. I hope to connect with you!
