In my experience, while students in Grades 5 to 10 are often capable of learning school mathematics, few actually see this in themselves. This is why helping students outside of school should be about more than teaching what math is being learned--things like how to add fractions, solve equations, compute averages. To really have an impact, students should be encouraged to become more effective math learners and, through this, to accept more personal responsibility for their own learning. Hi! My name is Ava - I'm an eighteen-year-old high school just moved to Canada with my parents and my teenage brother. I'm here to work and raise some money for living expenses when I go to university next 's College London in the UK. I'm British by , but I grew up in Germany, Malaysia, and Singapore - picking up languages and amazing experiences along the way. I'm very tutoring and supporting younger students!
