We are seeking a dedicated part-time Personal Support Worker (PSW) for an immediate opening in overnight shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (Midnight - 9 am), starting November 21st. Training will be provided on November 20th. The responsibilities include personal care (bathing, dressing, meal preparation), using a Hoyer lift, patient repositioning, range of motion exercises, housekeeping, and assisting with lifts/transfers including bed baths. A solid understanding and experience in the care of paralysis, incontinence, and paraplegic patients is required. This role, which is based in downtown Hamilton, amounts to 27 hours per week. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and possess a patient-centered, empathetic approach. We look forward to receiving your applications. We are seeking a kind, patient, and dependable caregiver to support my elderly mother, who is living with dementia. The ideal candidate will have experience and/or education in dementia or memory care, and a genuine passion for helping seniors live with comfort, dignity, and companionship. This is a live-out position in a warm and supportive family home (Hamilton area). You will work alongside a caring household that includes my husband and two adult daughters, as well as two friendly pets (a dog and a cat). Your daily responsibilities will include: Assisting my mother each morning with personal care — bathing, dressing, and grooming Administering her prescribed medications as directed by the family or doctor Providing companionship through conversation, gentle encouragement, and simple, meaningful activities (music, light walks, puzzles) Preparing a light lunch and occasional snacks Performing light housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, dishes, and laundry Feeding and monitoring our friendly dog and letting her in and out of the house as needed Helping maintain a calm, safe, and organized environment Communicating regularly with family members about my mother’s comfort, needs, and daily routines Qualifications: Experience and/or education in dementia or Alzheimer’s care (PSW certification, gerontology, or equivalent) Demonstrated patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills Prior senior caregiving experience Comfortable working within a family setting and around pets Must provide a valid Police Check / Vulnerable Sector Screening References required from previous caregiving positions Schedule: Daytime, live-out position (part-time or full-time, to be discussed) We’re looking for someone who will approach this role with warmth, consistency, and respect — someone who truly enjoys helping an elder feel cared for and at ease every day.

My mother is fully cognitive, but has a physical injury with her leg currently. She needs help with her morning routine: partial bathing assistance, partial dressing assistance, bringing her downstairs and light meal preparation or serving and light housekeeping. I need someone Monday to Sunday 7am -9am. Will pay $20/hour cash. If you can do some days or all days, please let me know. If you live nearby, that is preferable because we may require one hour during lunch time.

Every week cleaning of the bathroom and kitchen will be done. The floors will be done every visit. My mom has a tiny one bedroom. She also has a big but friendly dog! Laundry needs to be done every week.
