My name is Sarah. I am a student in my 3rd year at The University of Toronto, Specializing in Philosophy and double-majoring in BioEthics and Statistics. I play for the varsity women's waterpolo team there as well, and have for the past three years. I have balanced athletics and academics for the last 13 years, so I know what it takes to succeed with minimal time available to you. I excelled in almost all subjects in high school, finishing with 90% average. I had the unique and challenging experience of finishing high school during covid. This forced me to focus more on my own independent learning. This meant I had to figure out how I learned outside of the classroom. This has elevated my understanding what it's like learning at home, and I know that this will assist me in helping your child excel in the classroom, using the summer to set them up for success in the fall.
I coach with the Hamilton Aquatic Waterpolo Club, working primarily with kids ages 8-14, so I have experience engaging children's attention within a chaotic learning environment, while making sure to get to know them, to make sure I know how best to reach each child in the way that they require, whether that be through verbal instruction, demonstration, visual aides, etc.
Although my experience is limited, I am confident that I will be able to help your child engage with their academics in an effective way that may even get them to enjoy their math homework! I’d love the chance to get to know your family and see how I can best support your needs!
I have tutored my brother in math, english, science, religion, etc. his whole life. I have also tutored my younger siblings in the same subjects, as well as reading and writing. I am the go-to family member my aunts and uncles call for babysitting and tutoring. I speak some french, so I can help your child with any subbjects if they're taught in french, at least at the elementary level.
I am in my third year at UofT specializing in Philosophy and double minoring in BioEthics and Statistics
