I have been working with children since before I was 12 years old and have worked with many kids of different ages and abilities. Some of my previous experience includes working in church nurseries, providing full-time live-in childcare and working with children with special needs. I have experience working with children as young as newborn up to 13 years old. I have also watched as many as six children at one time. I am very mature, responsible and love working with children. I have my Emergency Childcare First Aid and CPR. I have a novice drivers license but don't currently have a vehicle. Thanks for checking me out, I look forward to hearing from you. I have watched families of up to three children in their own homes and multiple children from different families in my own home and church environments. I have done volunteer childcare work in two churches, Covenant of Life Ministries in Langley, BC and Potter's House Church in Chilliwack, BC. I have also done volunteer work in elementary schools as a teachers helper. I also have experience working with children on the Autism spectrum, children with hearing loss, and other differences. I am capable of caring for a child's well being, preparing them for school, ensuring they arrive safely to school, providing proper nutrition, providing first aid care, helping with homework, and many other tasks. I am willing to also provide light housework and have a lot of experience working with animals of all sizes.

I am an active Sr. Citizen who has raised our 7 children, now all grown. I enjoy my own grandchildren, now, and have continued seeing them and helping look after them while parents are working, for weeks at a time. Because I have this extended family, I need to travel to see them a few times a year. I would like to find a job, whether with childcare on a part-time basis. I would love to watch not more than 2 children.and have at least 5 or more hours a week. I am very patient and kind, but priority would be to make sure that children I am looking after are always safe, and get their adequate nourishment and sleep daily. A clean house is important, but does not top the safety of the children's care. I prefer to watch no more than 2 children (3 maximum) at home. If looking after an elderly person, patience and communication is always important for their well-being. I can cook, sew, knit, play piano, play (board) games, reading, go for walks (pending on weather). For children, I like to help them with crafts, their learning tools (reading, printing/writing letters, numbers, etc. ) and play games with them. I do laundry, ironing, dishes, dusting, and very light housework. My employer should discuss with me what she expects to be accomplished daily; generally, if I see work, I tackle it (if time permits) without needing to be told, unless employer only wants certain duties done by me. I don't mind pets, but don't want to be watching/monitoring more than 2 animals per household, (especially if there are children, already in the home). Many pets are needing attention like a child would, so would make the workload heavier for me. I am available immediately, and that would be from May, 2021 onward.. Young children need their nap times, and being fed healthy foods (finger, and meals). I can do that if hired on full time. I can also do light housekeeping chores and laundry, if householder wishes. I would always keep an eye out on children when they play as supervision is a necessary thing. I will want to speakwith the parent(s) about their expectations of me, and what my duties are for unusual circumstances to be prepared for ahead of time. I believe safety and quality time is important when looking after children. I want a clear idea of what is expected of me. I believe raising a large family qualifies me to a great extent. As previously stated, I do NOT have any paper certification to speak of. Additional Experiences/Qualifications: Since I am married, I do need to have some time with my hubby; I also, would like to have 2 times in the week some free time to attend my spiritual place of worship of 2 hours each time. (Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons). I, also, need take a week or 2 off every few months to be able to visit my children/grandchildren which all live out of Province/Country. Other than that, with discussion of my schedule, my time is your time. :)

My passion since I was a very small child has always been caring and compassion and the well being on all levels and comfort of others and this became my life's work for which I am blessed. I have spent 17 years in the school system working with those with the highest of needs and it has been a great joy to me to offer, by being observant, and getting to know them to learn, about each individual and their wants and needs and providing those in a timely fashion. This is my hearts joy and there is no better feeling than a relationship that most often develops in service to the I dividual regardless of age or abilities. I have often maintained relationships with each over the years. I have worked with youth of all ages and with seniors during off time with dementia and other struggles we find upon our way. As well in a private capacity provided respite for all age groups and abilities. My down time is spent cooking make ahead meals for my daughter who is now finishing her last year of nursing program and planning a summer wedding 2018, I love learning by reading and watching documentaries on a varuety of interests, crossword puzzles, scrabble and lots of drawing and some crafting. My life is well suited to me as I have been on my own for many years and it has been a great period of growth and learning. I am fortunate enough to have a friend who happily shares her 3 grandkids with me. I have actually just finished a month of caring for her grandkids and herself as she ended up in the hospital for quite a period of time. One does what needs to be done and it was fun to be throw back into the what's for dinner, homework chores, laundry etc routine again, once I caught my breath lol.
