My name is Jamie. I am a kind, compassionate, and creative caregiver with over twenty years of experience working with children of varied needs. For the past six years, I have been a Nanny in Stratford, treasuring every moment this special role brings.
As a Social Service Worker specializing in Children's Mental Health, I have worked with children from diverse backgrounds and with different physical and mental needs across a wide array of professional roles.
I focus on connecting with kids through creative adventure and self-expression. I view my position as a caregiver as an instrumental resource in helping young people develop and better understand themselves and the world. My approach to child care is authoritative - I am nurturing, supportive, and responsive. Additionally, I believe in calmly explaining boundaries around behaviors and expectations. Over the years, I've observed the many ways this approach has assisted children and families struggling with behavioral challenges to flourish and establish deeper connections.
My primary objective as a caregiver is fostering safe, healthy, trusting relationships with children and their parents. I offer support through daily activities, age-appropriate developmental activities, household tasks, and more! Having worked with children for a substantial period, build trusting relationships is second nature to me. Creating a safe place for children and their families is the driving purpose of my role - one that I take with great pride and grace.
My daily activities with children range from creative learning and play, story telling, singing and playing guitar, to outdoor adventures and so much more. I strive to allow the kids' interests to dictate our activities. Spending time outside with children is incredibly important to me, although I understand that some days require quieter indoors activities. In this job, genuine connection is key to understanding what each child needs to feel heard, seen, and loved and going with the flow to ensure those fluctuating needs are met with love and open arms.
In addition to taking care of many regular home management duties, I am open to discussing your family's needs. I make it a point to always leave the home better than I found it and aim to build relationships with families — forming a team to support everyday tasks in the home. I love animals and have many years of personal and professional experience caring for pets.
Thank you for taking the time to read my information. If what I have shared resonates with you, please do not hesitate to reach out! I look forward to learning more about your family!
Sincerely,
Jamie
