I’m Sneh, a third year Health Science major at Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC. With over 3 years of experience tutoring elementary, middle and secondary students through private tutoring, recognized federal volunteering programs and private tutoring companies, I’m an experienced educator and tutor with a strong background in Math, English, and Science for students from elementary to high school levels. I’m skilled in designing personalized learning plans, adapting lessons to diverse learning needs, and fostering student engagement and academic growth. I have a proven track to create structured, interactive sessions that build confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. I have been praised by my clients for patience, clear communication, and a results-oriented approach to student success.
I have around three years of experience as a tutor and educator, working with students from preschool to high school across a range of subjects. I currently tutor with School Is Easy (Surrey/Delta), where I work one-on-one with secondary students in Math and Science, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. I also offer private tutoring for students from preschool to grade 8, focusing on Math, English, and Science, adapting each lesson to the student’s learning pace and style.
Previously, I worked at Surrey Cedar Hills Kumon, where I helped younger students from kindergarten to grade 6 strengthen their foundational skills in Math and Reading. Alongside my tutoring roles, I’ve volunteered as a mentor and tutor with the Pathways to Education Program under the Pacific Community Resources Society, assisting high school students with their academic coursework and post-secondary planning.
Through these experiences, I’ve developed strong communication, classroom management, and instructional skills. I regularly incorporate methods such as step-by-step scaffolding, active recall, and positive reinforcement to help students retain concepts and stay motivated.
As an Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship (USES) recipient at Simon Fraser University, I’ve also gained valuable experience in academic coordination and peer support through my roles as Events Coordinator and Services and Support Coordinator on the USES Committee.
Overall, my approach to teaching is patient, adaptable, and focused on helping students build both confidence and a genuine interest in learning
