My name is Kaitlyn and I am seeking a job as a part time or full time nanny, baby-sitter, or any childcare position in Victoria, BC. I am located in Victoria, BC and I am a Spring 2023 honours graduate from the University of Victoria. I have a degree in Child and Youth Care (graduating GPA 9.0, 4.0 equivalent). As a recent graduate from the Child and Youth Care program, I was thrilled to graduate and be able to start the process of starting another position in the childcare field. I am experienced in the field of childcare, behavioural intervention, lifeguarding and first aid, and the mental health care field. I am also an Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECA) as well as a Behavioural Interventionist and have actively worked in both these professional roles with children of many different ages. Most importantly though, my genuine passion for caring for children and understanding their development is what I feel makes me an ideal candidate for this position.
I am originally from Winnipeg, MB until I moved to BC when I was 18. I am very friendly and extroverted, always excited to make new friends and try new things. I began to working in child care by becoming a babysitter, an Aquatic Instructor, Lifeguard, sports coach, as well as teaching the Red Cross Babysitting course. My passion for working with children led me to the University of Victoria, where I have had some very meaningful experiences working childcare jobs and learning new skills. I took this experience and managed by own aquatic safety and swimming lesson business throughout the summers in university, often teaching children with a mental health diagnosis privately. Throughout my university degree, I have gained valuable experience working as a Behavioural Interventionist primarily for children with an ASD diagnosis. As well, I worked as an ECA in an Out of School Care and preschool position, working with groups of children of all ages. I am very experienced with children of all ages. As well, I am fully certified in CPR and First Aid. I am also a good tutor and would be happy to provide tutoring to children.
I would love to find a family in need of a nanny from 20-40 hours a week. I am flexible with with shifts and hours and would like to start ideally at the end of May 2024/June 2024. I am willing to work with up to 4 children. I also have a car and a perfect driving record for 6 years now, so I would be able to do pick ups/drop offs or take the children on some fun adventures. In 2021, I earned my ECA certificate here in BC. As well, I am a fully certified lifeguard, swim teacher, youth leader, behavioural interventionist, first aid and CPR holder, aquatic CPR holder, and LSI aquatics leader. I have lot of educational background that has set me up to be a great nanny for your family. I also can provide some proof of this education if requested.
