My name is Naomi, I am 30 years old, and I am French. I live in Montréal, Québec, but I'm originally from Rennes in Bretagne, a region renowned for its traditional crêpes or galettes and its salted butter caramel. At university, I studied Psychology (unfortunately only for 1 year), but I would like to go back to college for a bachelor's degree in English.
I have a lot of babysitting experience as I have been taking care of children since I was young (10 years old). First, my little brother, and then small contracts with individuals. In addition to my studies, I worked with a babysitting agency and was a home nanny for several years. I also worked in an association that helps migrants, where I took care of children. From August 2023 to June 2024, I was an au pair in Canada (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Province), taking care of a 7-year-old boy. I am still on very good terms with this family.
If you are interested in my profile and would like to know more about me and my babysitting experiences, please feel free to reach out to me.
P.S: Please excuse my English, which is not excellent.
I started babysitting at the age of 10 with my little brother. Then, growing up, my babysitting network expanded thanks to my mom's colleagues who had children and to ads posted in my neighborhood (bakeries, supermarket, etc.). I do some occasional babysitting for lots of families. Then, when I was old enough to do so, I enrolled in a childcare agency (Kangaroo Kids). There was Jad, 9 months old, who I kept for a few hours on weekends. I had to change his diaper, give him a bottle, and make him take a nap. Then there were 9-year-old Dylan and her little sister Oummou, 1 year old. I kept them for a few Wednesdays and some evenings and nights when their mother was not there. I helped Dylan with her homework, prepared meals for them, and took them to play in the park. They were a very religious family, so I had to check that Dylan was praying and reading verses. It did not bother me at all, and I learned about their religion.
The third child I took care of was little Remy, whom I kept for a year and a half, from the age of 3 to 4. I took him to school, we played, drew, painted, and watched books and documentaries about sharks and octopuses because he was a fan. When his parents came home late, I had to shower him and have him have dinner. After that, I took care of a little girl named Mayssan, whom I kept from 6 months to 2 years old. I had to take her to and from the daycare, feed her, prepare her bottles, and later on, feed her proper meals. I also took her to play at the park and play with dolls.
After Mayssan, I kept twins Simon and Louise, who were 1 year old. I had to feed them their bottle and meals very carefully because they were allergic to several products. We went to the park every morning, then back home to eat, followed by nap time. After the twins, I kept Capucine from 8 to 10 years old. I picked her up from school Monday to Friday and stayed with her all day on Wednesdays. I took her to classical dance, GRS, and horseback riding. I also helped her with homework and prepared dinner every night because her parents worked a lot. On Wednesdays, if we had time, we went to the movies or shopping or had a snack in town.
I also took care of Brune, 6 years old, for a year, and Jahden, 2 years old, for a year. For Brune, I picked her up from school, helped her with homework, as she was just starting to learn to read. For Jahden, I watched him all day, and my mission was to help his parents teach him to go to the bathroom by himself, but it was not always successful. I also worked with children and adolescents in centers that housed migrants. I helped the children with homework and worked on their French. I also helped parents with administrative procedures and learning French.
From August 2023 to June 2024, I was an au pair in Canada, specifically in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I took care of a 7-year-old boy, with whom I am still on very good terms. I miss that family a lot.
