My name is Mary and I just graduated with a BSc in Psychology and Sustainability from Dalhousie University. I love working with children and have many years of experience. I have had many different nannying jobs with children ranging from newborn to 10 years old. I have also worked as a Early Childhood Education Assistant and an Inclusion Support Worker at Oak Bay Recreation for the past 3 summers. I am outgoing, energetic, and love being around people. I also have 1 year of experience working in a kitchen and know how to prepare healthy meals. I can provide great references as well as a police check. I have completed my Emergency CPR and First Aid as well. I would love to get to know you and your family and feel as though I would be a great candidate. I babysat for a family of three boys for about 6 years. When I started the eldest was 2 and he was the only child. A year later his brother was born and 3 years after that the youngest was born. I looked after them until I moved and the eldest boy was 8. I babysat for them about 2 or 3 days a week and more on my summers. I also would go on vacation with the family such as camping trips and trips to the fair, beach, etc. I would also help take the boys to the doctor or dentist when needed. In grade 12, I took a course at the College called Introduction to Early Childhood Education and loved it. I learned all about creative fun games for children and about the psychology behind it. I learned about children from each age group and their needs. It was incredibly informative. I have had two amazing summer jobs the past two years working with children. I worked as an Early Childhood Education Assistant at The North Grove in Dartmouth. Here I developed programming for the morning camps we held as well as holding family playgroups and childcare a few times a week. The second was an Inclusion Support Worker for Oak Bay Recreation in Victoria. Here I worked as an Inclusion Support Worker at summer camps and worked one on one with kiddos who had diverse needs. I also have experience working with children with disabilities. In high school I took 2 courses working with kids in Room 135. They were my favourite classes in all of my 4 years of high school. I also was in a club called Lunch Buddies where we would partner up with one of the students and each lunch with them one of the days of the week. As well, I volunteered with a program called Community Living, where I was a helper for a special needs bowling league. From those experience I got a job this past summer as an Inclusion Support Worker.

I’m 24 years old. I recently moved to the island to finish my bachelor’s degree in Communications at Royal Roads University. Although I don’t have official babysitting experience, I have a younger sister and helped my mom take care of her when I was a teenager. After completing my degree, I would love to become an elementary school teacher, so now that I’ve moved here, I’m hoping to gain more experience working with kids! I love Disney movies and coloring, and I’d be happy to bring my pens and coloring books to share while we watch my favorite movies together. I also speak Spanish and would love to teach some of it! I enjoy cooking and wouldn’t mind preparing meals for the kids. I have my Class 5 driver’s license and my own car, so transportation is never a problem. I’d love to meet you all and support your family by providing the best care possible! Although I don’t have formal babysitting experience, I’ve spent many years helping care for my younger sister, which taught me patience, responsibility, and how to create a fun and safe environment for children. I enjoy engaging kids through creative activities like coloring, watching Disney movies, and learning new things together. Since I’m currently completing my Bachelor’s in Communications at Royal Roads University and plan to become an elementary school teacher, I’m passionate about child development and education. I also speak Spanish and would love to incorporate simple language learning into playtime. Additionally, I enjoy cooking and can help with meal preparation. I have a Class 5 driver’s license and my own car, making me flexible with transportation needs.

I’m Maia! I am currently seeking opportunities to work with families in Victoria, as I have worked in childcare for 8 years and have loved it. I am a student at the University of Victoria, where I am pursuing a degree in history. I was raised in Edmonton and moved to BC earlier this year to work as a camp counsellor and later attend school. My favourite part of working in childcare is it allows me to use my creativity to find the best ways to connect with each child I work with. I believe every child is very unique and I love learning from them, just as they do from me! I am adjustable in my approach to childcare and understand that every family has different lifestyles, schedules, and needs. I am very willing to be accommodating in order to provide the best care that I can. I have worked with children that have disabilities and can adjust to any additional support that may be required. I have extensive experience with all age groups, and am familiar with the various needs that come with every stage of development. I personally love reading, art, and being outside. Some of my favourite things to do with the kids is reading to them or making crafts together. I also love playing games! I have had my vulnerable sector background check done multiple times, as required in certain childcare positions I have taken on. I also am certified in CPR and First Aid. I have worked with children since 2018. I have been consistently babysitting since that time, and have provided care for groups of up to 9 children ranging in age from newborns to 16 year olds. This position has entailed facilitating activities tailored to each group, preparing meals, housework tasks, assisting with homework, conflict resolution and problem solving, picking up/dropping off children at school, and following any other instructions received by guardians. I have also worked as a camp counsellor for the last two summers (2024 & 2025). This position meant 24/7 supervision of children for a week at a time, for groups of approximately 30 children ranging from 6-16 years old. In this position I delivered instructions for programming, facilitated activities specifically suitable for different groups, communicated relevant information to guardians, helped to maintain the site, and ensured all children were safe and happy for their time at the camp. In January - June 2025, I volunteered as an in-school mentor at a school for children with learning disabilities. I would meet with a child for one hour a week and help with schoolwork, do activities, and engage in meaningful conversations together. Throughout this time I would frequently communicate with school staff to ensure the process was beneficial and discuss where support was most needed.

After that, I studied Early Childhood Education and Care Cert 3 and worked at a day care, as well as occasionally doing private babysitting jobs. After all those years in Australia, I decided to return to Japan and start working at Kidzania, a sort of theme park for children aged 3-15.
