Hi! My name is Amna, and I am a 24-year-old English major living in Thorold, Ontario. For the first twelve years of my life, my mother ran an at-home daycare service, and as her eldest daughter, I became her dedicated assistant. I am the oldest of five siblings - my youngest brothers being 12 and 8. While I assisted my mother in babysitting for years, I took on my first solo babysitting job when I was twelve. INot to toot my own horn, but I quickly became a neighborhood favorite. Since then, I have worked as a tutor, a summer camp instructor, and have started my own creative writing and art classes for kids of all ages. As a passionate reader, writer, and learner, I find time spent with children truly rewarding. I believe that children can sometimes be wiser than adults, and that we have much to learn from them. However, I'm not just good with children - I am also a cat mom, a painter, a fairly skilled cook, and the hoarder of an impressive collection of classic novels. I also enjoy hiking, ice skating, and video games. But my favorite thing is spending time with my younger siblings.
I got my first babysitting job when I was 12 years old, and have been babysitting for friends, family, and members of my neighborhood ever since. My mother was also a daycare provider when I was growing up, so I am very used to caring for kids of all ages. I am also the eldest daughter of five - my youngest brother being 16 years younger than me. Since I was a kid myself, I have been completely embedded in the world of childcare. I also have seven years of teaching experience as a tutor, summer camp instructor, and the director of my own creative writing and art classes.
I am approaching the final semester of my bachelors degree in English Literature. Although I do not have formal nanny training, I have over a decade of experience with childcare and teaching. I actually love to cook and clean, and would have no issues helping around the house, preparing meals, and doing chores.
