Jerzy M.
I’m a second-year university student who hopes to become a teacher one day, especially in English and philosophy (and possibly biology!). I’ve always loved helping others learn and gain confidence in school, and tutoring is something I genuinely enjoy. I’ve spent over five years tutoring my cousin, who has a learning disability, mainly in English and math. Working with him taught me how important patience, encouragement, and flexibility are when it comes to learning. I’ve also done one-on-one tutoring for peers during Grades 11 and 12, helping classmates understand material, stay organized, and feel more confident before tests. I’m friendly, patient, and easy to talk to, and I always try to make learning feel less stressful and more enjoyable. Additionally, I am always willing to tweak my approach depending on what the student finds most beneficial. My goal is to create a supportive space where students feel comfortable asking questions and celebrating their progress.
I have been a private tutor for my cousin(15 years old) for the past 5 years. He has a learning disability and I have crucially helped him succeed in English and math. Additionally, I did some tutoring for students/peers while I was at St Mary’s Academy (Mainly English and biology)
I graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 2024. I am now enrolled In my second year at the University of Manitoba where I am obtaining a degree in the arts. With that, I will apply for their education faculty to be a teacher eventually!
