Shirley C.
I'm Shirley - a 65-year old woman here in Vancouver. Although new to the professional tutoring system, my love for assisting others led me to take up a role as a tutor, apart from my caregiving and housekeeping experiences. As a proud Filipino-Canadian, I understand the importance of speaking English fluently, especially for individuals who've relocated from countries where English is not a part of the school curriculum. Therefore, I'm excited to use this understanding and compassion to help others on their English learning journey. My availabilities are on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings. I am flexible with tutoring sessions taking place at the employer's home or online. As I am unable to relocate, tutor sessions can be arranged in convenient locations within Vancouver, as I am comfortable with travel. I can cater to a wide range of learners, from 3 to 17-year-olds. My qualifications include a Master's degree, a Bachelor's degree, in addition to college and secondary school education. I'm well-equipped to help learners in preparing for school and exams, including primary education. You can rest assured that your child’s safety is my priority as I have a clean police check and work permit. I am also a non-smoker and a capable swimmer. I speak English and Tagalog fluently. I look forward to using my extensive personal experiences and qualifications to provide beneficial tutoring services for both families and individuals in need of English language support.
I am from the Philippines. I am a Secondary School Teacher there. I taught English Subjects for 23 years, then I came here to Canada. I have Diploma in Bachelor of Science in Education & Master of Arts in Education.
