Emilie R.
I'm Emilie, a UX designer who's currently transitioning into a career as a dietician at TMU. I'm originally from a French-speaking family and my mother's roots are from Montreal. I've always been passionate about teaching, a trait inherited from running a small tutoring company with my mom in our family home. We trained neighborhood elementary school kids and prepared them for their imminent exams. There's something incredibly satisfying about witnessing the moment understanding dawns on a child's face. I've been working for the past three years and I'm available for tutoring immediately. My schedule allows me to teach on weekday evenings (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday) as well as the entire day on weekends. I hold a Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree, and I am currently a student pursuing a Science degree. I also have an artistic inclination as I pursued Art in my earlier years. As a tutor, I extend my services to kids aged between 3 to 10 years old. My expertise extends to preparing them for school or exams via the traditional or Montessori method. Ideally, I would prefer tutoring sessions to take place at the employer's house or online. My skill set also extends to teaching design, which I've honed through years of experience as a UX designer, as well as Mathematics, which has always been a strong suit of mine. And of course, as a native French speaker, I can offer proficient lessons in the French language. My hobbies include adventurous activities like backpacking, playing beach volleyball and perfecting my skills in baking during my downtime. I am excited about the opportunity to put my diverse set of skills to use as a private tutor. My primary goal is to provide a colorful learning experience and pave the way for academic success for my students. I am looking forward to helping and inspiring young minds in their journey of knowledge!
I was able to support myself throughout my studies by tutoring French alongside my mother in our home to the neighborhood kids. While working in tech, I ran many workshops and conferences reaching my peers about UX, Interactive media, and user psychology. Now, as I navigate a career change, I'm looking for some tutoring work to fill my available time!
