Rylann H.
I am frequently engaged in several volunteer activities, with a majority of my time dedicated to a Montessori elementary school that caters to students from kindergarten through to seventh grade. The student body there is diverse and vibrant, composed of young mind engaged in innovative educational techniques uniquely aligned to Montessori pedagogy. In addition to providing an overall aid within the school, there's a significant portion of my time that's spent working individually with neurodivergent children. This requires me to stretch my abilities and reach out to support children who do not necessarily interact and learn in the traditional way. Neurodivergence is an attribute I deeply admire and respect. With each child exhibiting a unique way of thinking and perceiving, involvement in their education often provides stimulating, rewarding experiences. The one on one interaction, while demanding, serves as an avenue to connect with these children at a more personal level. Thus, my engagement at this Montessori school, in combination with the dedication to neurodivergent children, has allowed me to grow and learn as well, while offering my time and assistance to support a holistic education system.
I volunteer many times a week at a elementary school working with kids grade 1-7.
