Rebecca D.
My name is Rebecca. I currently work as a special needs teacher at the Coquitlam School District! I have been in this field for 8 years now and I thoroughly enjoy what I do. I find it incredibly fulfilling to witness the progress students can make with proper support and interventions. In addition, I am also a behaviour interventionist. I provide support for children on the autism spectrum in their homes, setting up plans and collaborating with families throughout the process! Currently, I am on the brink of completing my Orton Gillingham practicum. I anticipate being certified by April 2025. The Orton Gillingham approach is multi-sensory and greatly aids students with reading and writing differences. Children with dyslexia, in particular, thrive with this approach! When I’m not assisting others, I love spending my time outdoors biking, hiking, paddleboarding, or taking my dog for walks.
