Hello! My name is Shirley, a dedicated and passionate educator with over 10 years of experience working with children from as young as 3 months to 15 years of age. I have been teaching for 6 years in Jk-Grade 6. I Being qualified as both an OCT and RECE, I've worked with primary school children, those preparing for school, and children with special needs, always striving to open their minds to new knowledge. My tutoring style focuses on nurturing a growth mindset, while also ensuring the learning journey is fun and engaging. I utilize interactive lessons, games, and applications to maximize understanding and retention of concepts. Moreover, I am skilled in teaching English, Math, and Science subjects. I have been working as an OCT qualified teacher for over 5 years. Hired with one of the Ottawa school board, I have worked with kindergarten and grades 1 and 2 primarily, with some experience in 4, 5, 6. Prior to being a teacher, I worked as a before and after school Early Childhood Educator, and offered assistance with homework. I am qualified to teach infants through grade six.
