I am an 11th Grade Gifted Student at Iroquois Ridge High School, who has a passion for teaching, mathematics, and piano. I am extremely calm, patient, and work well with students of all ages due to have siblings. I am interested in teaching, playing the piano, the stock market, and going out with friends.
I have taught students of all ages in Mathematics and have shown consistently good results with all of my pupils. I have also been a student ambassador for my school for months, and have been extremely active in the school environment, joining many clubs, teams, and events. At school, I have consistently been at the top of the class for math, maintaining a noteworthy average of 97% from Grade 9 all the way up to now. Moreover, I have participated in many math contests, achieving Second in Canada for Kangaroo contest, Honor Roll on Canadian Intermediate Math Contest, Top 1 Percentile in Gauss, Caribou, amongst others, and Distinction and Honors on Canadian Open Math Contest, Hypatia, Galois, Pascal, etc.
In my free time, I enjoy going to Trading Card events, listening to music, and playing Chess. I also play a lot of badminton at a provincial level, winning many medals, awards, and ribbons. I have played piano for 10+ years, including completing RCM 10, going to music festivals, and the sort.
I am here to try to improve your kids Piano and Mathematics marks, and I offer a free trial class to get to know me and my teaching style. My teaching philosophy is letting the student not memorize, but understand how it works to remove the urge to memorize. I will be a little strict on homework, attentiveness, and discipline, but will still try to be more like a friend or buddy, compared to being a teacher or mentor. This is because at the end of the day, I simply want your children to nurture and improve.
Why am I doing this. I am trying to save up for University, as I will need to work for myself to be able to afford it. However, I mainly want to do this to help as many kids as I can, and make sure they succeed in areas where I may not. I enjoy meeting new students, and forming bonds with as many aspiring students as I can.
In my high school, I have taught many different students in Mathematics, this includes many students 2-3 years older than myself. Within everyone I have taught, I have brought their grades up, and helped them win many Honor Roll, Distinction, etc on various Math Contests. I have taught people in English, Spanish, French, and Mandarin Chinese to make the easiest suited language for your child.
