Teresa I.
I am an OCT-certified primary/junior educator with a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of Science (Honours in Biology with Distinction) from Queen’s University. Through my classroom placement experience across Kindergarten through Grade 6, I focus on creating engaging, inclusive learning environments rooted in inquiry-based STEM, hands-on numeracy, and differentiated literacy. Beyond the classroom, my background as a City of Toronto Camp Coordinator and Sports Instructor, Queen’s student-athlete tutor, and Let’s Talk Science volunteer has shaped my proactive approach to mentorship and youth leadership. Fully bilingual in English and Ukrainian, I am passionate about supporting diverse learners and look forward to contributing to the broader school community through athletic coaching, science initiatives, and creative extracurricular programs.
I am a graduate of Queen’s University’s Concurrent Education program and currently work as an Occasional Teacher with the Toronto Catholic District School Board. I also work with the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board. Through my teacher education and practicum experiences, I have taught students in Grades 1–8 across a range of subjects, including Mathematics, Science, Literacy, Social Studies, and Physical Education. I have also worked as a student athlete tutor at Queen's university tutoring university students across several science classes. I have experience planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons and supporting students with diverse learning needs. I am passionate about creating a positive, encouraging learning environment and helping students build both academic skills and confidence.
