For the past 7 years, I've had the opportunity to work with students from age 4 through grade 6, helping them grow in reading, writing, math, and French. I strive to create a supportive and engaging environment where kids feel confident and excited to learn. I also teach early piano with music theory to piano students, having participated in "Music for Young Children" for 5 years. One of the qualities that helps me in tutoring is having a great deal of patience. I work with your child, at their pace. No pressure, just a lot of encouragement and enthusiasm, even celebrating small successes and achievements. Whether I am tutoring students in reading (specializing in readers with challenges), writing, math, or French, I use a variety of educational materials, including books and scholastic texts, to support my lessons. I continually expand my resources to provide a diverse and engaging learning experience. For younger kids, I make the lesson very hands-on, using educational games related to the subject being learned. After each lesson, I connect with the parent(s) or caregiver to briefly go over what was learned. At the parent's discretion, I will leave a small amount of homework for the child to complete before the next tutoring session. I am happy to provide an email summary of the work covered that day and what we plan to focus on at the next session. I am always available to discuss progress at any time.
