Annmarie B.
I live in the Waterloo Region and have always had a deep passion for helping others. I feel a profound connection to elders, children, and pets — each holding a special place in my heart. My experience caring for both my grandmother, mother and father have opened my eyes to the growing need for compassionate, personalized care for our senior community. These experiences have inspired me to carry this purpose forward with empathy and dedication. Currently, I work part-time as a coach — a role I love and thrive in. But beyond that, I feel a strong calling to support families and seniors in a meaningful way. Giving back in this capacity feels not only natural but deeply fulfilling. I’m also incredibly grateful for my own wonderful family — my husband, our two grown children (a daughter and a son), and the close-knit bond we share. Family means everything to me, and it’s this value that drives my commitment to supporting other families navigating the challenges of caring for aging loved ones. It would be my privilege to get to know your family and offer a sense of calm, comfort, and relief — both emotionally and physically — knowing your loved ones are safe, supported, and truly cared for.
With over 25 years of hands-on experience caring for elders in my own family, caregiving is more than just what I do — it’s who I am. My journey began with my grandmother, who lived with dementia for a decade, and continued with my mother, who faced Alzheimer’s for five years. I was their daily caregiver, and even after they moved into assisted living, I remained closely involved, visiting regularly and supporting them in every way I could. Through these deeply personal experiences, I developed not only practical knowledge but a genuine understanding of the emotional and physical needs of seniors. I was also part of an Alzheimer’s focus group, where I had the opportunity to share and learn alongside others going through similar experiences. From personal hygiene and meal prep to walks, conversation, crafts, games, and music — I found joy in the small things that bring dignity and comfort to daily life. My approach is rooted in empathy, patience, and heartfelt connection. I’m passionate about supporting families and their loved ones in creating a safe, nurturing, and joyful lifestyle. It’s my privilege to offer compassionate care that feels like home.
