Hi there! 👋
I’m a warm, caring, and dependable person who genuinely enjoys helping others and making them feel comfortable, respected, and supported in their daily lives. I have a nursing background, along with hands-on experience in caregiving and as a Behaviour Interventionist (BI), where I provided one-on-one support to individuals with autism and communication challenges using ABA-based strategies. Through these roles, I’ve developed strong skills in patience, observation, and adapting my support to each person’s unique needs and personality.
I also have experience supporting adults with ALS, mobility challenges, and a wide range of daily care needs, always with compassion, dignity, and attentiveness. In addition, I enjoy meal preparation and have experience following specific dietary requirements, including a ketogenic (keto) diet, while making sure meals are both nourishing and enjoyable. I’m patient, attentive, and easygoing, and I truly value building trusting, meaningful relationships with the people I support and their families. For me, caregiving is not only about helping with daily tasks, but also about offering companionship, kindness, encouragement, and helping each person maintain their independence, comfort, and overall quality of life.
🌷 Hello everyone!
My name is Lais, and I’m currently offering private caregiving and childcare services in Victoria, Langford, Colwood, and surrounding areas!
A little bit about myself! 😊
I’m originally from Brazil, where I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 2018. I moved to Canada in 2023, and I’m now a Canadian Permanent Resident. I’m also currently working toward obtaining my Registered Nurse (RN) licence in British Columbia.
I’m very passionate about healthcare and always looking for opportunities to learn and grow professionally. I regularly take courses and continuing education to keep my knowledge up to date and improve the quality of care I provide.
I have several years of experience caring for people of different ages and with different needs, from newborn babies and children to adults and seniors.
My experience includes supporting seniors, individuals living with ALS, autism (including nonverbal individuals), OCD, seizure disorders, mobility challenges, and other health conditions. I have also worked as an English teacher for children, supported at-risk children, and worked as a nursing tutor.
I also have experience and a good understanding of dietary restrictions, special dietary needs, and preparing meals according to individual health conditions, nutritional requirements, and personal preferences. I understand how important proper nutrition is, especially when caring for people with specific health needs.
I currently work as a Health Care Assistant, providing personalized care and helping seniors maintain their dignity, comfort, independence, and quality of life.
Some of the services I can offer include:
* Personal care, bathing, dressing, and hygiene
* Mobility assistance, transfers, and fall prevention
* Medication reminders and assistance within my scope
* Meal planning and preparation, including meals for individuals with dietary restrictions and special nutritional needs
* Light housekeeping, laundry, and home organization
* Companionship, walks, outings, and meaningful activities
* Grocery shopping and errands
* Support with daily routines and activities of daily living
* Respite care and additional support for families
* Newborn, infant, and childcare support
A little more about me personally! ❤️
I’m a wife and a mom, a non-smoker, and someone who genuinely enjoys taking care of others. I consider myself patient, kind, responsible, organized, attentive, and easygoing.
I love cooking, keeping things clean and organized, going for walks, spending time outdoors, and enjoying nature. I’m also someone who loves a good conversation, listening to people’s stories, and building meaningful connections.
For me, caregiving is not just about completing tasks. It’s about making someone feel safe, respected, comfortable, and genuinely cared for.
I believe that every person deserves to be treated with kindness, patience, dignity, and compassion, regardless of their age or circumstances.
I also understand how important it is for families to feel confident and at peace knowing their loved ones are in good hands. I always do my best to provide the same care and respect I would want for my own family.
