May S.
My name is May. I am a dedicated and knowledgeable Caregiver professional in Vancouver with a passion for helping and supporting individuals in need. With over a year of diverse experience, I am adept in providing Alzheimer's, dementia, and various other care. I specialize in a range of duties including housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal planning and preparation, errands, assistance with walking, vacuuming, hand washing dishes, escorting to appointments, planning visits and outings, bathing assistance, and toileting assistance. I have collaborated with patients dealing with various diagnoses such as bedridden states, diabetes, incontinence, osteoporosis, and arthritis, among others. I am available for part-time work from Monday to Saturday fulltime.Although I can't relocate, I have the ability to travel and I own a vehicle, which can be used on the job. I have a clean record and am willing to obtain a police check to assure your peace of mind. My background as a caregiver and companion is complemented by my love for cooking and singing, traits that make me a holistic and enjoyable companion. My experience extends towards working with children with disabilities, given that I am a mother of two, I empathize and understand the need for patient, loving care. I speak fluent in English and Tagalog and, while my preferred place of work is in home health care, retirement homes, and clinics, I am flexible and open to adapt to my patient's needs. With me, patients will always have a supportive and hands-on helper, an attentive listener, and an overall compassionate companion. I am looking forward to providing your loved ones with care and companionship they deserve.
Although I don't have extensive work experience in providing care for the elderly, I completed a Caregiver course in my home country, the Philippines. I can utilize this training as part of my work experience. I am willing to apply the knowledge I gained during my studies and am eager to learn new skills. In addition, I have recently assisted in caring for my 87-year-old grandmother, including administering prescription medications, vitamins, preparing and feeding meals, and grooming her. This experience has allowed me to apply the knowledge gained from my Caregiver course. Drawing from my previous experience in caring for babies and toddlers, I understand the importance of patience, hard work, and kindness, skills that I can also apply to caring for the elderly.
