Ashley W.
I am a licensed and Registered Health Care Assistant with an extensive history of volunteer / work experience in the health care field, I am confident in my ability to provide exceptional care services to your Family/Healthcare team. Before becoming a Health Care Aide (HCA), I volunteered as a labor and delivery coach with the Surrey Community Birth Program. I have a strong background in conflict resolution and extensive experience working in healthcare settings. This foundation, along with my ability to perform efficiently in fast-paced environments, played a key role in my quick employment after completing my HCA certification at my preceptorship facility. Seeking additional work hours, I transitioned into a private care position and had been providing daily care (Monday through Thursday) for a C5 complete quadriplegic gentleman in my community. I worked with the same client for 2.5 years, which greatly contributed to my growth and development as a healthcare provider. I take pride in my ability to work efficiently under pressure and communicate effectively with clients, their families, and fellow team members. As an empathetic individual, I am passionate about delivering person-centered care. I previously collaborated weekly with my client at a local gym, working closely with the Spinal Cord Injury Association from 2022-2025. This experience has not only enriched my clients life but significantly enhanced my knowledge in rehabilitation, injury prevention, nutrition, diagnosis, and treatment. It also deepened my understanding of the holistic approach to care for individuals with spinal cord injuries and the importance of health/exercise for longevity and quality of life. I am a casual employee at a long term care facility in my community and can offer part time employment a few days a week for the right family. I have extensive knowledge/experience working with adults with cognitive/physical impairments. Please feel free to Send me a message and lets see how I can be of benefit to you or your loved ones in need.
