Amy R.
My name is Amy. I am interested in a devoted care companion with a deep-seated passion and compassion towards providing care to individuals needing companion care services, and I am proudly based in the beautiful city of Surrey/White Rock. In my life, I have been inspired and driven by my deep sense of caring for others and ensuring their well-being. I take pride in maintaining a calm demeanour, especially at times when faced with challenging situations. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with my father who was diagnosed with varying illnesses and complications including cancer and congestive heart failure, as well as those undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. These experiences have taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, compassion, and the invaluable worth of health. If I can add a little joy to others, it would bring me satisfaction in a job well done Beyond the companion care, I am also well-versed in managing housekeeping duties, meal planning, conducting grocery shopping tasks, running daily errands, and even providing care for pets.. I am comfortable accompanying clients to medical appointments and social visits, as well as excursions or trips to visit neighbours, family, and friends. To ensure safe commuting, I maintain a clean background, have a valid driver's license, and hold a spotless driving record. This makes me able to handle assignments such as taking clients to appointments or doing the grocery shopping. I am also CPR and First Aid certified, and am more than willing to obtain a police check if required. I am a non-smoker, I swim well, and I have the ability to skillfully work with children with disabilities. With a preference for part-time work as a live-out health care companion, I consider myself as extremely flexible with my schedule. My availability varies, ranging from mornings to evenings on most weekdays and early in the day over weekends. Away from work, I lead a healthy lifestyle and enjoy maintaining my fitness by going to the gym regularly. During my spare time, I also love volunteering at a rabbit rescue habitat, and relish the joy of spending quality time with my friends and my 21-year-old son. I am available to start work from the 5th of December, 2024. As a proud citizen of Canada, I am eager to contribute towards creating a comfortable, safe, and healthy environment for my clients, always delivering my work with heart and dedication.
Interacting with seniors while working at Fleetwood Care Center, assisting my father during his stage 4 colon cancer, and being certified to work with children with autism has provided me with a unique perspective on the importance of care across all ages.
