I have experience caring for older adults through assisting my grandmother with daily activities such as meal preparation, mobility support, and companionship. This has helped me develop patience, empathy, and strong communication skills, which I’m also strengthening through my Social Service Worker Gerontology course at Seneca College.

I have hands on experience caring for older adults through my time spent assisting my grandmother with her daily activities. This included helping with meal preparation, medication reminders, mobility support, and providing companionship. Through this experience, I developed patience, empathy, and strong communication skills, which I understand are essential in providing quality care for seniors. In addition to my personal experience, I am currently enrolled in the Social Service Worker Gerontology program at Seneca College, where I am learning professional skills and knowledge related to older adults care, including understanding their physical, emotional, and social needs. Combining my personal experience with my formal education has prepared me to provide compassionate and effective support to older adults.
