Shelly A.
I am an animal owner of a 7 lb, 9-year-old friendly chihuahua. I also volunteer and play the bagpipes. In my free time, I enjoy crafting, being outdoors at the fish hatchery, or walking along the beach.
Being of service to others is an honor. My mother passed away from cancer in 2004, and my love for her continues into my present day in all that I do. Health and safety have been passions of mine since I was a child. My motivations as a caregiver help me find deep personal fulfillment in helping others, experiencing a sense of compassion and empathy for those in need. I am able to make a positive impact, build meaningful relationships, and advocate for vulnerable populations. Additionally, I value the opportunity for lifelong learning, professional growth, and job stability. Overall, a career in caregiving offers a unique blend of personal satisfaction and professional development. I completed care aid training in 1994 and have continued in occupational health and safety professions since then.
I am presently attending the university of New Brunswick for the occupational health and safety certification. I am also studying psychological health and safety leadership at UNB. I have multiple certifications such as security license, construction safety officer, occupational first aid level 2, project management, WorksafeBC Supervisor certification, and many more.
