Katayoun M.
I am a motivated and compassionate individual with a background as a Community Support Worker (CSW) and a music teacher. A significant part of my CSW training focused on supporting infants from birth and early childhood development, which strengthened my understanding of care, patience, and individualized support. I also have three years of experience working in a long-term care home, specifically in the Alzheimer’s unit, where I provided compassionate care and support to seniors with cognitive impairments. I have over five years of hands-on experience caring for my two grandmothers, one of whom had suffered a stroke and required assistance with mobility and daily activities, while the other required general elderly support and supervision. In addition, I provided dedicated care for my father for two years and for my mother for four years, assisting with personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, mobility support, and emotional companionship. Furthermore, I worked for four years in a nursing home, specifically in the Alzheimer’s unit. In this role, I gained valuable experience supporting residents with dementia, ensuring their safety, assisting with daily living activities, and providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Through these experiences, I have developed strong skills in patience, empathy, communication, and maintaining dignity and respect for elderly individuals.
