I am a middle-aged woman from the Caribbean. I really enjoy working with the elderly, and I have been blessed with a special gift for taking care of them and helping them be very cooperative with me. I understand how to be gentle and coax them into doing what they need to do. I am patient with them, and I love chatting and joking with them, which allows them to feel loved. I also know how to treat them with respect while helping them in order for them to maintain their dignity. I have experience taking them to appointments, as I did this for my mom for over 20 years. She had dementia, hypertension, and diabetes. I have also helped friends' parents when they were not able to or did not understand how to take care of the elderly. I can give you time to focus on everything else you need to do, with peace of mind.

I have taken care of my parents - my mom for maybe 15 years and my dad for about 4 years. I've also helped with my friend's parents for about 3 years. Currently, I am helping my friend's father. All of this caregiving is done on a volunteer basis.
