I'm a 20-year-old student who loves working with people. I grew up in Sudbury in Northern Ontario. I'm the oldest of 3 sisters and have 2 cats back home. I'm of Scottish, Danish, Finnish, Irish, English, and French heritage. My family is fairly big and I have a total of 14 first cousins. I've been a dancer since the age of 2, and a competitive dancer since the age of 8. In September I will be starting at Algonquin College in the Bachelor of Early Learning and Community Development, which will also grant me my ECE diploma. I love working with kids and have done it for nearly 10 years now. However, I recently started a serving position at a retirement home and after observing other caregivers and companions with the residents, I became interested in that sort of position for myself! Above all else, I am a people person. I have great interpersonal skills, I'm honest, communicative, witty, and kind-hearted. I've been described as empathetic and sweet my whole life and have finally, humbly, accepted those compliments as facts. My hobbies and interests include singing, acoustic guitar, dance, makeup, visual art, video games, watching movies, baking, and photography. I have plans to grow this list even more, having recently taken an interest in pickling/fermenting foods, gardening, sewing, and yoga. I do care deeply about world issues but will only talk about them if you want to! I would love to be put in a position where I can discuss and maybe even learn about any of these or other topics! I believe older people deserve just as much love, attention, and fun as anyone else in the world! I hope to emulate this and become a good companion to anyone in need of it. I currently work as a dining room server at a retirement home and find myself connecting with many of the residents, and thought I would be great in this kind of position. I also work as a daycare assistant, so while it's at the other end of the age spectrum, I am good at going from strangers to friends.
