I am a 51-year-old wife and mother of two girls, aged 11 and 13. I stayed home to raise my girls until they were both in school, after which I returned to the accounting field. In 2022, I decided to leave accounting as I found it was no longer fulfilling. I missed caring for my family and found it challenging to strike a balance. Following this, I started a microgreens business. Health and wellness are passions of mine. My goal was to give back to my community by growing fresh, nutrient-dense greens. Although the business went well, I had to close it after 18 months. The plants demanded attention seven days a week, which was a lot to handle. In the past five months, I have been a volunteer senior driver for the Town of Okotoks. I really enjoy drives where I get to engage with another generation. The experience offers immense learning, fosters connection, and is filled with laughter. During my time at home, I became a personal trainer and took Yoga Teacher Training. I still enjoy weekly yoga classes and workout regularly. I love nature and everything outdoors. As a family, we partake in skiing at Castle Mountain in the winter, as well as skating and snowshoeing. In the summer, we love to golf, hike, and bike. As I journey into the second half of my life, my children need me less, allowing me the opportunity to give back to the community. My 80-year-old mother currently resides in New Brunswick, and it is unfortunate that I am unable to assist her. Seniors, after contributing to society for so long, rarely receive the attention they deserve. I would like to help alleviate some loneliness and be of assistance in any way I can.
I'm looking for companion/homecare positions in the Okotoks area. I worked in accounting for over 20 years. I left accounting to pursue other passions as I prefer to work directly with people. I'm currently a volunteer senior driver for the Okotoks area. I enjoy spending time with seniors, talking and hearing about their adventures. I also personal train in a gym setting. I'm a certified yoga instructor and would love to incorporate my knowledge of gentle movements with the elderly to keep their mind and body active.
