Prescila A.
My name is Prescila. I have been working as a live-in caregiver for about 5 years here in Canada and also worked as a live-in caregiver and house manager for 17 years in Singapore before Canada. I am a graduate and a registered health care assistant in British Columbia. Currently, I am expanding my skill set in an LPN program. I am seeking a part-time caregiver or home/personal support worker role. I am drawn to this role because of my heartfelt commitment to caring for the elderly. My kindness, patience, and compassion drive my desire to support individuals who may struggle to care for themselves, ensuring they feel valued and respected.
With training here in-home care, assisted living, and long-term care settings, I have formed meaningful connections with my clients, often accompanying them to appointments and helping with their errands. I also focus on providing compassionate support with daily activities such as getting out of bed, dressing, bathing, grooming, preparing healthy meals and feeding, as well as assisting with personal care. I believe that a safe and tidy environment can greatly enhance the quality of life for my clients, so I strive to keep their surroundings clean and organized, which helps reduce the risk of falls. In my role in assisted living and long-term care, I understand the challenges that some residents face, including behavioural issues and aggression, and I approach these situations with empathy and respect, fostering an atmosphere of understanding and safety.
