I am originally from India and an international student who has been living independently in Canada for a while. Independence has instilled in me skills and values such as managing tasks efficiently, resilience and the ability to adapt. Over the past three years, I have gained work experience in caregiving roles where my duties ranged from domestic chores like housekeeping, laundry, and grocery shopping to escorting patients to appointments and planning trips. I also have experience in performing more sensitive tasks like feeding tubes, bed baths, lifts and transfers, and helping with dressing and grooming. I have worked with patients diagnosed with Cancer, Paralysis, Hearing Impairment, Brain Tumor, and Speech Impairment - providing them the needed support and assistance. I'm comfortable with Alzheimer/Dementia care and range of motion exercise as well. I'm looking for a full-time Caregiver / Companion role where I can make use of my skills and experience to provide the best companion care. Whether it be in Home Health Care, Retirement Homes or Clinic / Hospitals, I am open to both live-in and live-out arrangements. Plus, I have the ability to relocate and travel as per job requirements. My time availability is quite flexible, being free mornings, middays, evenings, and nights, throughout the week. All I can promise is that I will do my job with the utmost diligence and loyalty, bringing smiles to the lives I touch. I am adept at speaking English, Hindi, and Punjabi fluently which gives me an advantage in communication. Although I do not have a driver's license, and do not smoke, I can swim well. I do not have a police check currently but I'm willing to obtain one when needed. I look forward to the opportunity to care for your loved one or to provide you with the companionship care you need. I used to take care of my grandmother, who had hand, leg, and brain surgery. I helped her take her medicines on time, assisted her with eating, walking, and sitting.
