My name is Elizabeth, a dedicated caregiver with more than 30 years of experience and currently residing in Langley. I am Filipino by heritage and a proud mother to three wonderful grown-up children. My devotion to caregiving started in Hong Kong where I served as a caregiver for 16 years. In 2009, I migrated to Canada and continued my career as a live-in caregiver looked after an old lady. Once I acquired my permanent residency, I decided to broaden my scope in providing care and support. Thus, I pursued my studies in Early Childhood Education, which further enriched my skills and experience as a carer. Upon completion of my course, I spent over nine years serving in a licensed daycare facility. In terms of personal traits, I balance patience, kindness, and empathy in all of my caregiving roles which has received positive feedback from my previous employers. My hobbies which include arts and crafts, gardening, and reading have allowed me to form deeper connections with the people I take care of. More importantly, my Sunday volunteering work at the church hatchets me the understanding of the necessity of care and support to everyone I encounter. I am seeking a full-time Caregiver or Companion role, predominately in retirement homes. Having worked with patients diagnosed with hearing impairment, I am skilled in implementing special communication techniques that facilitate meaningful interactions. Aside from caregiving, I am also adept in housekeeping duties including laundry and bathroom cleaning. To guarantee a safe environment, I am willing to undergo a police check. Additionally, I hold educational qualifications such as a First Aid Certificate and a Caregiver / Companion Certificate. I am proficient in English and Tagalog. Unfortunately, I am unable to relocate or travel due to my current circumstances. My availability is flexible and I can commence immediately, mainly during morning and mid-day from Monday to Friday. Perhaps, my most significant achievement as a caregiver is the impact I've made on the lives of numerous people through my unwavering commitment, empathic approach, and resilient spirit. My primary goal is to continue fulfilling that role, making a difference by offering comfort, companionship, and holistic care. For companionship. I am an Early Childhood Educator, Responsible Adult

I’m Ann! Caring for others has always been close to my heart, especially after I had the life-changing experience of looking after my own mother during her battle with lung cancer. For over a year, I took on the role of her caregiver, helping with doctor visits, managing her medications, assisting with daily routines like bathing, and even making sure she stayed active with gentle walks and exercises. It was a challenging time, but it gave me such a deep understanding of what it means to care for someone you love. Afterward, I found my way into a marketing career, but the skills and compassion I developed during that time have stayed with me. I know how important it is to bring patience, empathy, and understanding into caregiving—especially for mothers and the elderly, who hold a special place in my heart. I’m always eager to help and learn, and I believe that my personal experience as a caregiver gives me a unique perspective. I would love the opportunity to be there for someone else in need, just as I was for my mom. Caring for others is close to my heart. When my own mother was diagnosed with lung cancer, I became her primary caregiver throughout her journey. For over a year, I assisted with her doctor visits, pain management, bathing, and daily walks, and helped ensure her comfort in every way I could. This experience gave me a deep understanding of the needs of the elderly and the challenges that families face during such times.

I am passionate about providing quality care to seniors and forming close relationships with my patients. I believe my qualifications, experience, and enthusiasm make me an ideal candidate for this position. I have extensive experience in caring for the elderly, including helping with daily activities like bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. 88-year-old in 4th stage prostate cancer spread to his liver. Duties include comfort care and palliative care. Meal prep includes grinding food and adding colorless and tasteless protein powder for his muscle mass. He can't swallow large pills, so they need to be ground. Also, adding hydrate to his water or juice to prevent dehydration. Before his treatment (Lutathera), he was able to walk to the bathroom, but after treatment, he deteriorated gradually. That's when I provide comfort care, including sponge baths, helping clean him after using the restroom, encouraging him to eat and drink fluids, massaging feet, hands, and forehead to prevent edema, and using protective gowns, masks, and gloves due to radiation exposure. Additionally, organizing his room and keeping it tidy, doing his laundry. The second patient is a 70-year-old who had a stroke and dementia. My duties include assisting with bathing, administering medication, driving to doctor appointments, keeping her clean and groomed, preparing nutritious meals, taking her to malls and grocery shopping, and assisting with 30 minutes of light exercise. She uses a wheelchair but can do some things on her own, and I guide and support her as needed. I paint her nails, engage in conversation with her, and ensure all her needs are met to provide a safe, happy, and healthy environment. The third patient is a 90-year-old with a pacemaker and Alzheimer's. Similarly, I assist with bathing, medication, and doctor appointments, keep her clean and groomed, and prepare meals. I take her to malls, help with grocery shopping, and engage in light exercise. She uses a walker and chair and can do some things independently, with my guidance and support. I also paint her nails, engage in conversation, and ensure all her needs are met for a safe and comfortable environment.
