Yrs Experience

Over the years, I gained valuable experience in both home care and long-term care settings. While I enjoyed building meaningful relationships with clients and residents, I also discovered that I am someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people from all walks of life and helping them feel comfortable, supported, and valued. Outside of work, I am a creative person who enjoys music, nature, paddleboarding, crafting, and spending quality time with my son. I am naturally caring, approachable, and have a good sense of humour, which helps me build strong relationships with the people around me. I value kindness, honesty, and treating others with respect.I later took time away from work to support my son through challenges at school. During this period, both my son and I were diagnosed with ADHD. This experience gave me a deeper understanding of neurodiversity and strengthened my ability to advocate, problem-solve, and adapt to different needs. I consider myself resilient, compassionate, and open-minded. I am someone who learns quickly, embraces new challenges, and always strives to see the best in others

I began my healthcare journey during the COVID-19 pandemic, working as a Home Companion with Nurse Next Door. Supporting clients in their homes inspired me to pursue a more meaningful role in caregiving and healthcare. I was accepted into the Health Care Assistant (HCAP) program and, while attending Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), worked at Chartwell Langley Gardens in long-term care. After completing my studies, I returned to Chartwell to fulfill my return-of-service commitment, providing compassionate care and supporting residents, including those receiving end-of-life care. Over the years, I gained valuable experience working in both home care and long-term care settings. During this time, I developed strong communication skills, adaptability, empathy, and a person-centered approach to care. I later took time away from work to support my son through challenges at school. During this period, both my son and I were diagnosed with ADHD, which gave me a deeper understanding of neurodiversity and the importance of individualized support. As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I value creating inclusive, understanding, and supportive environments where people feel respected and heard. I am resilient, compassionate, and dedicated to helping others while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
