I have 3 adult kids and 3 grandkids. I'm a nurse midwife in my country (Philippines). I have a caregiver certificate in child care and elderly care, with or without complexity. I am a swimmer and I have a Class 5 driver's license. I have First Aid, BLS-CPR, and AED certificates. I am also a good cook and very thorough in cleaning, especially in the kitchen and bathrooms. I manage the household by grocery shopping, stocking pantry items, and disposing of expired food in the fridge. I am a homebody, enjoy chatting, and have various talents. I always say YES and have a positive outlook on life, especially when dealing with my clients. I am very compassionate, fun-loving, and kind-hearted. I am passionate about providing quality care to seniors and forming close relationships with my patients. I believe my qualifications, experience, and enthusiasm make me an ideal candidate for this position. I have extensive experience in caring for the elderly, including helping with daily activities like bathing, dressing, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. 88-year-old in 4th stage prostate cancer spread to his liver. Duties include comfort care and palliative care. Meal prep includes grinding food and adding colorless and tasteless protein powder for his muscle mass. He can't swallow large pills, so they need to be ground. Also, adding hydrate to his water or juice to prevent dehydration. Before his treatment (Lutathera), he was able to walk to the bathroom, but after treatment, he deteriorated gradually. That's when I provide comfort care, including sponge baths, helping clean him after using the restroom, encouraging him to eat and drink fluids, massaging feet, hands, and forehead to prevent edema, and using protective gowns, masks, and gloves due to radiation exposure. Additionally, organizing his room and keeping it tidy, doing his laundry. The second patient is a 70-year-old who had a stroke and dementia. My duties include assisting with bathing, administering medication, driving to doctor appointments, keeping her clean and groomed, preparing nutritious meals, taking her to malls and grocery shopping, and assisting with 30 minutes of light exercise. She uses a wheelchair but can do some things on her own, and I guide and support her as needed. I paint her nails, engage in conversation with her, and ensure all her needs are met to provide a safe, happy, and healthy environment. The third patient is a 90-year-old with a pacemaker and Alzheimer's. Similarly, I assist with bathing, medication, and doctor appointments, keep her clean and groomed, and prepare meals. I take her to malls, help with grocery shopping, and engage in light exercise. She uses a walker and chair and can do some things independently, with my guidance and support. I also paint her nails, engage in conversation, and ensure all her needs are met for a safe and comfortable environment.

I am a mother of three grown adults, but I still call them my babies. I have three grandchildren that I love spending time with, but they live four hours away, so I cherish our FaceTime moments. I am not ready to retire, and I love to keep busy. My passions and interests are vast. I love sports (especially hockey), gardening, sewing, cleaning, organizing, and event planning. I spend every Thursday with my mom. It's our day to get her errands done and have dinner together. My father has passed and spent the last years of his life battling Dementia and Alzheimer's. I was very close to him and was his caregiver until he went into Hospice. I have always had dogs, from my 3 lb Yorkie to my 120 lb King Shepherd and some in between. I love animals and am very comfortable being around large dogs. My father had Alzheimer's and dementia. I was his caregiver for many years. I also have a sister who is a Type 1 diabetic, and I grew up in a household that took care of her on a daily basis. My mother broke her hip in June 2025, and I took care of her daily until she was able to resume living on her own. I was at the hospital every day for 4 weeks, and then she moved in with me for her aftercare for another 4 weeks.

Over the years, I gained valuable experience in both home care and long-term care settings. While I enjoyed building meaningful relationships with clients and residents, I also discovered that I am someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with people from all walks of life and helping them feel comfortable, supported, and valued. Outside of work, I am a creative person who enjoys music, nature, paddleboarding, crafting, and spending quality time with my son. I am naturally caring, approachable, and have a good sense of humour, which helps me build strong relationships with the people around me. I value kindness, honesty, and treating others with respect.I later took time away from work to support my son through challenges at school. During this period, both my son and I were diagnosed with ADHD. This experience gave me a deeper understanding of neurodiversity and strengthened my ability to advocate, problem-solve, and adapt to different needs. I consider myself resilient, compassionate, and open-minded. I am someone who learns quickly, embraces new challenges, and always strives to see the best in others I began my healthcare journey during the COVID-19 pandemic, working as a Home Companion with Nurse Next Door. Supporting clients in their homes inspired me to pursue a more meaningful role in caregiving and healthcare. I was accepted into the Health Care Assistant (HCAP) program and, while attending Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), worked at Chartwell Langley Gardens in long-term care. After completing my studies, I returned to Chartwell to fulfill my return-of-service commitment, providing compassionate care and supporting residents, including those receiving end-of-life care. Over the years, I gained valuable experience working in both home care and long-term care settings. During this time, I developed strong communication skills, adaptability, empathy, and a person-centered approach to care. I later took time away from work to support my son through challenges at school. During this period, both my son and I were diagnosed with ADHD, which gave me a deeper understanding of neurodiversity and the importance of individualized support. As someone who is neurodivergent myself, I value creating inclusive, understanding, and supportive environments where people feel respected and heard. I am resilient, compassionate, and dedicated to helping others while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
