My name is Elizabeth, a dedicated caregiver with more than 30 years of experience and currently residing in Langley. I am Filipino by heritage and a proud mother to three wonderful grown-up children. My devotion to caregiving started in Hong Kong where I served as a caregiver for 16 years. In 2009, I migrated to Canada and continued my career as a live-in caregiver looked after an old lady. Once I acquired my permanent residency, I decided to broaden my scope in providing care and support. Thus, I pursued my studies in Early Childhood Education, which further enriched my skills and experience as a carer. Upon completion of my course, I spent over nine years serving in a licensed daycare facility. In terms of personal traits, I balance patience, kindness, and empathy in all of my caregiving roles which has received positive feedback from my previous employers.My hobbies which include arts and crafts, gardening, and reading have allowed me to form deeper connections with the people I take care of. More importantly, my Sunday volunteering work at the church hatchets me the understanding of the necessity of care and support to everyone I encounter. I am seeking a full-time Caregiver or Companion role, predominately in retirement homes. Having worked with patients diagnosed with hearing impairment, I am skilled in implementing special communication techniques that facilitate meaningful interactions. Aside from caregiving, I am also adept in housekeeping duties including laundry and bathroom cleaning. To guarantee a safe environment, I am willing to undergo a police check. Additionally, I hold educational qualifications such as a First Aid Certificate and a Caregiver / Companion Certificate. I am proficient in English and Tagalog. Unfortunately, I am unable to relocate or travel due to my current circumstances. My availability is flexible and I can commence immediately, mainly during morning and mid-day from Monday to Friday. Perhaps, my most significant achievement as a caregiver is the impact I've made on the lives of numerous people through my unwavering commitment, empathic approach, and resilient spirit. My primary goal is to continue fulfilling that role, making a difference by offering comfort, companionship, and holistic care.
