In my role as a Personal Support Worker, I am acutely aware of how pivotal it is to provide assistance to patients and adults who are in need of varied support services. This is not only significant in maintaining their general welfare but also gives me a gratifying sense of accomplishment and joy. The range of support services I offer encompasses various aspects of their lives including, but not limited to, lending a helping hand during shopping, providing assistance during bathing, aiding meal preparation and consumption, and undertaking tasks associated with laundry and housekeeping. Within this caregiving/psw capacity, there is an inherent understanding that personal assistance serves more than just practical needs, it goes beyond that. The efforts in offering this support play a crucial role in enhancing the emotional wellbeing of individuals, making them feel valued, cared for and, consequently boosting their self-esteem. In fact, this kind of assistance has a profound impact on how they perceive life in general as it gives them comfort and a sense of belonging, which in turn makes them feel significantly better and healthier both physically and mentally. The essence of my work as a Personal Support Worker is not only restricted to fulfilling the specific duties associated with the role but also significantly focusing on the broader perspective of improving the overall quality of life for each individual that I get the opportunity to work with. This involves acknowledging their specific needs, anticipate their expectations and sculpting the care plan accordingly. Therefore, every act of service in this role, no matter how trivial it may seem, carries a deep sense of purpose and value for me.

I have been working as a PSW for 2 years, I have experience in home care settings and residential care settings and am very passionate about this job couse I have grown up with a lots of siblings and elders to help in their personal assistance which I felt like keep doing it since I found it interesting and so helpful.
