Jana B.
Currently, I am enrolled in the Psychiatric Nursing Diploma program at Grant MacEwan University and will be entering my second and final year this fall. This program has provided me with a solid foundation in mental health care and basic nursing skills, similar to those of a Health Care Aide (HCA). In 2023, I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Sociology, graduating with distinction. Since the summer of 2019, I have worked at ECHO (Empowering Citizens for Health and Opportunity) as a Disability Support Worker and an Assistant Program Coordinator. In both positions, I have learned the importance of building strong rapport with my clients and being creative when supporting individuals with various mental, developmental, and physical disabilities. In the summer of 2022, I worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Whitecourt Chamber of Commerce, where I primarily helped organize and promote events for local businesses.
