Jewelyn M.
I am from the Philippines. I am deeply passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others, particularly those in need of care and support. I have had the privilege of working as a caregiver for a palliative patient with ALS. This role has not only deepened my understanding of the unique needs of individuals facing health challenges but has also allowed me to provide compassionate and personalized care. (non-ambulatory case: bedridden/ unable to move around on her own) In addition to my previous work, I am currently serving as a caregiver for an adult with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This experience has further enriched my caregiving journey, enabling me to support an individual with diverse needs. As a calm person with a high level of patience, I have found that I am fully capable of handling this type of patient. I am not frightened by tantrums or meltdowns; instead, I focus on ensuring both my patient’s safety and my own. (ambulatory case: able to walk and perform some tasks independently but still requires some assistance) Through my time with adult ASD patient, I have learned his likes and dislikes, and I have gained confidence in my ability to care for him. Compassion and personalized care are the values I bring to every situation, always striving to ensure the well-being and happiness of my patient. ----- My approach to caregiving is rooted in a high level of patience and empathy. I consider patience to be a valuable gift, and I am committed to utilizing it to create a calm and supportive environment for those under my care. Understanding that each individual is unique, I strive to adapt my caregiving style to meet the specific needs and preferences of the person I am assisting.
